- What transfers: client and contact records (CSV export/import), documents, and your basic firm structure.
- What you rebuild: workflow templates and automations, they're firm-specific, so you re-create them in LucaLedger (most firms use this to simplify the tangle they'd accumulated).
- Smart timing: migrate in the off-season, run one or two clients end-to-end first, then bring the rest over.

Is LucaLedger a true TaxDome replacement?
For most firms, yes, and then some. It covers the portal, workflow, engagement letters, and e-signatures you use TaxDome for, and adds the bookkeeping, tax preparation, financials, and strategy that TaxDome leaves to other software. The one thing to plan around is e-filing, which arrives in November 2026.
Does TaxDome prepare tax returns?
No. TaxDome imports finished returns from your tax software and collects the e-signature; preparation and e-filing happen in that other software. LucaLedger prepares the return itself.
Which has better AI, LucaLedger or TaxDome?
They target different jobs. TaxDome AI organizes documents by tagging and renaming. LucaLedger's AI categorizes transactions, keeps the books, and assists with return preparation.
Is LucaLedger cheaper than TaxDome?
We don't publish pricing, schedule a demo for a figure scoped to your firm. Note that with TaxDome you also pay for a separate tax engine and QuickBooks, both of which LucaLedger includes.
Is LucaLedger SOC 2 compliant?
LucaLedger is SOC 2 ready, controls and evidence are in place, data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and firms and clients are isolated at the row level.
Can I keep my clients on QuickBooks?
Yes. The QuickBooks sync is two-way, so you can leave clients on QuickBooks Online and work in LucaLedger, or replace it when ready. No forced migration.
